The law in many states including California will not allow a dealer to release a vehicle to a customer without proof of insurance. Many dealers carry "binder" insurance policies which uninsured conumers can buy which offer coverage for a limited time, typically 30 days. Binder coverage is typically exensive and often not cost effective as the insurer must assume the worst about the people it is insuring.

The Auto Buying Service does not offer binders at this time. The primary reason is that, unlike lot-based dealerships, our sales model is not about getting people so excited that they have to have the car today and are willing to pay high prices for an insurance binder. We would rather you procure insurance on your own prior to purchasing from The Auto Buying Service so that you can make an informed, carefull decision independent of your auto purchase.
