Six levels of buyer protection!
Buying a used car should not be risky. That is why The Auto Buying Service has introduced six (6) levels of buyer protection ensuring the quality of your vehicle and the quality of your buying experience.
#1: Refundable deposit
To procure a vehicle on your behalf (and lock-in your savings) we require a Vehicle Purchase Deposit. This deposit is 100% refundable should we be unable to locate a vehicle want to buy. Once receiving your direction to purchase a vehicle(s), the deposit becomes non-refundable and is attributed to your down payment. However, should you find, upon receipt of your vehicle a material defect that you did not previously acknowledge and approve, you are entitled to a 100% refund of your Vehicle Purchase Deposit.
#2: Redundant vehicle inspections
Whether it is our 100-point Pre-Owned Vehicle Inspection or our 150-point Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Inspection, our technitions inspect every vehicle we bid for on your behalf. Once we have procured the vehicle, we have an independent third party inspector perform a second inspection. We ensure that neither report reveals material wear & tear or damage that has not been previously discussed with and agreed by you.
Note 1: Some of our Vehicle Suppliers provide their own inspections called Condition Reports adding a third level of inspection to many vehicles we purchase.
#3: Limited warranty on every vehicle we sell
Whether it is continuing coverage provided by the manufacturer or an aftermarket service contract provided by one of our third party partners, each and every vehicle sold by The Auto Buying Service carries at least a 3 month / 3,000 mile powertrain warranty covering the engine, transmission, drivetrain and axels.
#4: Extended service and GAP contracts
The Auto Buying Service offers a full compliment of extended service contracts should you be interested in either longer term or more comprehensive coverage. In fact, we have plans that span 5 years, 100,000 miles, and cover almost all vehicle components (called exclusionary coverage because it only takes time to name the parts not covered). The Auto Buying Service also offers Guaranteed Asset Protection or GAP programs to ensure buyers against financial loss while the vehicle is under loan.
#5: Contract Cancellation Option
While less than 5% of used car buyer opt for it, we offer you the right to purchase a Contract Cancellation Option with which you can unwind your transaction (subject to specific terms and conditions outlined in the option). While the price of the option varies based on the value of the car and all vehicle returns are subject to a re-stocking fee, it may be the option for you if you are uncertain about your purchase.
Note 2: While the Contract Cancellation Option is required by California law, we make this option available to all our buyers regardless of state.
Note 3: Both the price of the option and re-stocking fee are prescribed by California assembly bill AB68.
#6: Auto Buyer Guarantee
