Three types of coverage offered!
The Auto Buying Service offers several layers of warranty or service contract protection. Your Target Vehicle Report will contain detailed information on the warranty coverages available for your vehicle. In general, coverages fall into three areas:
- Factory Warranty.
The Auto Buying Service specializes in late model pre-owned cars the majority of which are still covered by the manufacturer warranty. Your Target Vehicle Report will contain a Carfax Warranty Report which will estimate the remaining manufacturer warranty period (if any) remaining on your Target Vehicle based on its model year and estimated odometer miles.
- Dealer Limited Warranty.
The Auto Buying Service provides a 3 month / 3,000 mile limited warranty on all the vehicles it sells. Provided by Wynn's and backed by the AM Best A-ranked Nationwide Insurance Group, this warranty covers the major powertrain components including the engine, transmission, drive train and axels.
- Optional Service Contract.
Explained in more detail below, The Auto Buying Service offers a number of optional extended service contracts that can be included in your auto purchase (and loan). With some coverages running to 10 model years and 100,000 miles, we have a service contract product to meet most needs.
Variety of Optional Coverage Plans!
You are, most likely, going to own your Pre-Owned or Certified Pre-Owned vehicle for several years beyond the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty. Consider protecting your asset and yourself from unexpected repair costs with an extended service contract.
The Auto Buying Service has teamed up with Wynn's to bring you several service contract options. While your Target Vehicle Report will explain the options available for your vehicle, the coverage dimensions to consider include:
- Make / Model. Not surprisingly the cost of coverage varies by the expected repair cost. While many service contracts are priced below $1,000, those for Highline vehicles like the Range Rovers on this page may top $4,000.
- Time / Mileage. Time and mile usuually move together. Your cost of coverage increases both with the age / miles on the vehicle and the number of years / miles of protection you purchase.
- Coverage Level.
- Extended Care - Bronze. Basic or "Powertrain" coverage of the engine, transmission, drive axel, steering, and electrical. Includes seals & gasket coverage on vehicles under 80,000 miles.
- Extended Care - Gold. Covers all Bronze components plus front / rear suspension, brakes and heating, cooling and fuel delivery systems.
- Extended Care - Diamond.Covers all Gold components plus air bags, emission systems, stereo / radio and other high tech electronics.
- Deductible. $50, $100 and $200 dollar deductible levels available. The higher the deductible the lower the price. $100 is the standard, and recommended, deductible level.
- State. State laws governing the sale of extended service contracts vary widely. As a result, prices often vary by state based on compliance and registration requirements.
Note: All Extended Care plans include roadside assistance, towing and car rental benefits for repairs due to covered parts.
